There is nothing complicated about attending an auction, but it does help to know what to expect.
We want you to have the best experience right from the start, so here are a few useful tips:
Real Estate
- You’ll be able to view the real estate before the auction, during a scheduled open house or at a private viewing.
- You have the right to hire your own inspector prior to the auction if you’re serious about bidding.
- It’s best to arrive a little early to get registered as a bidder. Make sure to bring your driver’s license for proof of identity.
- Be prepared to pay the earnest money on the day of the auction, should you have the winning bid on the real estate. We take cash, checks and credit cards.
- No matter how you choose to pay, a buyer’s premium will be added to the amount of your winning bid. The premium amount varies by property and will be communicated before the auction.
- All activities required to prepare for the day of closing will be coordinated by our office. Don’t worry, we’ll keep you in the loop every step of the way.
Personal Property (on site)
- Feel free to arrive up to 2 hours before the auction to view the available items.
- You’ll need to provide your driver’s license to get registered and be assigned your bidder number.
- Take a seat anywhere you wish and enjoy the excitement of watching the action as it unfolds.
- If you make a winning bid on an item, you may check out immediately or continue bidding as long as you wish. Feel free to check out whenever you’re ready. We take cash, checks and credit cards.
- There is a buyer’s premium added to the cost of every item. This premium will be communicated prior to the auction.
Personal Property (online)
- We host some of our auctions simultaneously as live and online events. If this is the case, you may sign up for free to bid online at liveauctioneers.com.
- Once you’re approved as a bidder, you’ll have the option to view the entire catalogue of items. If there are items you want to bid on, you have the option of pre-bidding or waiting until the live event. Pre-bidding is good for those who know they can’t be online at the time of the auction or want to be prepared if there are unexpected technology issues.
- Please note that when you identify your maximum pre-bid, it is held in confidence by the system platform and will only be used if the bidding goes that high. For example, if you pre-bid a maximum of $500 and the bidding stops at $250, the system will bid for you at the next highest bid amount (ex: $275). If that is the final bid, you will win the bidding at $275. Payment is accepted by credit card or PayPal.
