Sometimes you just need a little help. Whether you’re looking to stay in your home or relocate to somewhere most suitable for your physical or financial needs, there are programs in place to help you along the way.
For general information on programs available to elderly and disabled Hoosiers, visit the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA) to get more information on programming for the elderly and persons with disabilities.
In addition to the IHCDA programs, there are additional resources available to seniors in need:
- Indiana Association of Area Agencies on Aging advocates for quality programs and services for older adults and persons with disabilities on behalf of Indiana’s 16 Area Agencies on Aging.
- The Indiana Senior Resource Guide was created for senior Indiana residents or for persons with disabilities to assist with identifying associations and organizations that provide services geared to the aging and disability populations.
- IHCDA sponsors a free rental search website called IndianaHousingNow.org. This site allows potential renters to search with specific criteria, including senior-friendly accommodations.
- Lastly, the AARP Indiana exists to redefine and improve life for Hoosiers who are 50+ years old. Visit their site to learn more about their various programs and service offerings.
